Fans who came to Reymonta on Saturday evening once again witnessed extraordinary excitement and a thrilling finish. Wisła Kraków beat Raków Częstochowa 2:1 in the 12th round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, with Kacper Duda securing all three points in the 100th minute with a phenomenal strike. Julius Ertlthaler and Lamine Diaby-Fadiga, who converted a penalty, had also scored earlier. Thus, Mariusz Jop's team claimed their sixth home win of the season, extending their excellent run in front of their own fans.
The White Star launched an attack from the opening minutes and quickly began to threaten Kacper Trelowski's goal. Ángel Rodado came close to opening the scoring in the 3rd minute, but his powerful shot was superbly saved by the Raków goalkeeper, who also made a save shortly afterwards from a Julius Ertlthaler attempt. In the 8th minute, the referee awarded the White Star a penalty after Bogdan Racovițan handled the ball, but following a VAR review, the decision was changed and the penalty was overturned. The pace dropped somewhat in the following minutes, and the visitors began to get more involved. Wisła's defense dealt effectively with the visitors' pressure, and the first half ended goalless.
After switching sides, the Wisła players attacked again and reaped the rewards in the 53rd minute. Darijo Grujčić dispossessed an opponent, and Julian Lelieveld played a superb ball behind the defenders to release Julius Ertlthaler, who coolly slotted the ball into the net in a one-on-one situation, scoring his first goal in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. The goal spurred the visitors into action - in the 59th minute, Marcel Łubik saved Mahir Emreli's header, and in the 72nd minute, Lamine Diaby-Fadiga found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside (after a VAR review). The visitors got their reward in the 84th minute, when the referee pointed to the spot after a foul in the penalty area, and Diaby-Fadiga confidently converted the penalty.
Just when it seemed that the match would end in a draw, stoppage time arrived, along with the 100th minute of the game. Ángel Rodado won a free kick on the left wing, Ertlthaler sent in a cross, Alan Uryga headed the ball on, and Kacper Duda's powerful volley under the crossbar sent the stadium at Reymonta into euphoria! Duda secured three valuable points for Wisła, and the referee ended this incredible spectacle moments later.
