Wisła Kraków lost 3-1 away to Lech Poznań. Jakub Krzyżanowski scored Biała Gwiazda's only goal, and all four goals came between the 54th and 64th minutes.
Wisła began the match at Bułgarska with a high press and attempts to bring the play closer to the hosts' goal. Darijo Grujčić and Jakub Krzyżanowski both tried their luck from distance, but neither managed to hit the target. W the following minutes, the Poznań side began to take control, increasingly forcing Biała Gwiazda's defense to intervene.
Patrik Wålemark posed the greatest threat. First, the Swede failed to convert a good chance after a pass from Pablo Rodriguez, shooting over the crossbar, then tested Marcel Łubik with a header from a Joel Pereira cross. The Wisła goalkeeper stayed composed and kept the ball from crossing the goal line.
Biała Gwiazda looked for chances of their own, but their moves lacked an accurate final pass. After a pass from Angel Rodado, Kacper Duda could not control the ball in the penalty area. At the other end, Wisła survived a major scramble in front of their own goal, blocking the hosts' successive attempts. W the 35th minute, Wålemark came close to opening the scoring again, but his shot hit the post. The teams went into the break level at 0-0.
Four goals in ten minutes
Lech launched another series of attacks at the start of the second half. Łubik had already saved a shot from Antoni Kozubal after a well-worked move by the hosts, but in the 54th minute the Poznań midfielder found a way past our goalkeeper. After a pass from Leo Bengtsson, he controlled the ball in the penalty area and opened the scoring.
Wisła responded instantly. W the 56th minute, Frederico Duarte crossed from the right, and Jakub Krzyżanowski raced into the penalty area, got ahead of the defenders and headed home the equalizer. It was the first Ekstraklasa goal for the Biała Gwiazda youth product.
Unfortunately, the draw did not last long. Just a minute later, Wålemark received the ball from Rodriguez, cut inside and scored with his left foot at the near post. W the 64th minute, the home side extended their lead. Radosław Murawski played the ball into the box for Yannick Agnero, who took his chance and scored Lech’s third goal.
A missed chance to get back into the game
Wisła looked for a way to turn the game around. Rafał Mikulec and Marko Božić came on, followed by Víctor Meseguer. Krzyżanowski remained active in attack and found himself in a good position again, but this time Mateusz Lis made a good save.
Our left-back was also involved in the move that earned the White Star a penalty. Angel Rodado stepped up to take the spot kick, but in the 80th minute he missed the target. The chance to score a goal and get back into the game went unused.
Despite their efforts late on, the Wisła players were unable to change the score. The match in Poznań ended in a 3:1 victory for the home side.
